Nicole + Kent’s Wedding ~ Savannah Wedding Photographer

The weather in the end of December was perfect for Nicole and Kent’s New Year’s Eve wedding. Savannah is not considered home for either of them, but the military brought them together and Kent chose to propose to Nicole in the most gorgeous and historic Forsyth Park. It was there where we headed for photos after their Catholic Wedding Mass at the Hunter Army Airfield Post Chapel. They were escorted from their ceremony by a classically beautiful 1938 Chevrolet Coupe. After a stroll through Forsyth, Nicole and Kent walked to Madison Square where we shot family photos and then headed to the DeSoto Hilton for their reception.

Nicole chose an assortment of white and blue flowers to make up her flower arrangements throughout the day. Susan at Colony Bay Florist did an exquisite job with the bouquet in memory of Nicole’s mom, the wrist corsages (which Nicole planned to be worry free), boutonnieres and reception table centerpieces. Jeff Brown of All About You DJs rocked the guests late into New Year’s Eve and candy from the yummy Savannah Candy Kitchen kept the guests’s energy high all night.

Nicole and Kent’s family and friends traveled from all over the country to celebrate their union of marriage. Kent’s groomsmen wished them well by toasting the happy couple with a personalized Grog. Yes, I said that right, Grog – or at least I’m guessing that’s how you spell it. It’s a personalized concoction of beverages that symbolizes their past, present and future and includes a combination of malt liquor, white zinfandel, Southern Comfort, a dash of fruit punch, 7-up, life savers among other things – all poured into one bucket. It’s customary for the groomsmen to toast with it and then the bride and groom surprisingly joined in. I believe by the end of the night everyone had participated in the Grog, toasting with each other, gulping, wincing, laughing and smiling. The comments I heard throughout the evening were, “It’s not too bad!”

So, glasses raised, here’s to Nicole and Kent! May your days be full of wonder, excitement, love and happiness!

Kassy + Greg’s Elopement ~ Savannah Elopement Photographer

Are you missing the holiday spirit? How about we take a look back to December and reminisce about the holidays for just a second. I didn’t want to get too far into 2012 without blogging about this elopement.

Kassy and Greg contacted me a couple of weeks from their hopeful elopement date. They were a little frustrated with the wedding planning process and decided that eloping was the ideal situation; concentrating on their love for each other in a beautiful location. Their decision turned out to be perfect with one gorgeous December day in Savannah with temperatures near the mid 70s. The historic Forsyth Park Inn hosted Kassy and Greg on their destination vacation/elopement/honeymoon. And the talented Reverend Steven Schulte officiated the ceremony.

Let me tell you, this day was special! Upon entering Kassy’s room to begin taking photos, she explained to me how much their families and friends loved them so much and how thankful she was of their thoughtfulness – it brought her to tears. Their friends and families were amazingly supportive and all went out of their way to make sure Kassy and Greg’s wedding day was flawless even though they would not be there. It was so heartfelt to hear that friends and families made their wedding cake, set up hair appointments, bought flowers, passed down heirlooms to wear and made Kassy’s bouquet and Greg’s boutonniere. There were many happy tears shed that day; a perfect start to a brand new beginning for the two of them.

Congratulations Kassy and Greg and best wishes! xoxo
